Five parties planning coalition begin discussing policies

Representatives of five parties aiming to form a new Czech coalition government began discussing its potential policy priorities on Thursday.

The Civic Democrats, the Christian Democrats and TOP09, who ran under the Together banner, and the Pirates and Mayors, who also formed an electoral coalition, are attempting to iron out coalition positions on particular areas. Each has put forward six groups to discuss individual areas with the others.

The five parties have 108 seats between them in the 200-seat Chamber of Deputies. Together chief Petr Fiala is seeking to be appointed prime minister of the potential new government.
