More people with disabilities to obtain driver's licenses from January

Starting January 2025, more people in Czechia with hearing impairments or autism spectrum disorders (ASD) will be eligible for a driver’s license, pending medical assessment. Conditions for individuals recovering from addiction will also ease, with the driving ban period reduced from one year to six months. The Health Ministry’s amendment to existing regulations aligns with medical advances and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The reform aims to promote equal opportunities and enhance mobility. Additionally, hearing-impaired individuals can now pursue professional driving careers.
