Karolína Plíšková pulls out of Australian Open after breaking her arm

Wimbledon finalist Karolína Plíšková will miss the Australian Open in January after breaking her arm in training, her manager Michal Hrdlica said in a statement on Thursday. Plíšková sustained the injury while training in Spain. According to doctors the arm will take about four weeks to heal. Plíšková  said on Facebook she was hugely disappointed not to be able to take part in her favorite tournament. Plíšková has yet to win a Grand Slam tournament, reaching the final of the 2016 US Open and then losing in three sets to Ashleigh Barty at this year’s Wimbledon final.
