Plíšková wins at Wimbledon to reach second Grand Slam final of career

Karolína Plíšková, seeded eight, has reached the final at tennis’s Wimbledon after overcoming second seed Aryna Sabalenka 5-7 6-4 6-4 on Thursday afternoon. The Czech’s victory over the Belarusian at the All-England Club has put her into only her second Grand Slam final; the 29-year-old one-time world number one has never won one of the sport’s four majors.

Plíšková will now face current world number one Ashleigh Barty of Australia in Saturday’s final.
