Jaromír Jágr scores his 1,099th pro goal, surpassing Gretzky

Czech hockey legend Jaromír Jágr has scored the 1,099th goal of his professional career, surpassing Wayne Gretzky, who had 1,098.

The 50-year-old hockey star scored the record-breaking goal in Sunday’s game between his Kladno Knights and HC Třinec in the Czech Extraliga, becoming the highest-scoring player of all time.

Wayne Gretzky tallied his 1,098 goals between the NHL, WHA, as well on the international stage for Canada and in the playoffs.

As for Jaromír Jágr, his 1,099 career goals came in the NHL, KHL, Czech leagues, as well as internationally for Czechia.

The Czech hockey star and one of the most iconic players of all time is set to turn 51 next week, but doesn’t plan to retire any time soon.
