Government to ask for another extension of state of emergency

The Czech government will ask the lower house to extend the current state of emergency by another 30 days, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš said in an interview for television Nova on Wednesday.

Mr Babiš said he wasn’t satisfied with the current development of the coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic, adding that the only solution to the crisis was a vaccine.

In relation to the easing of restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of Covid-19 due on Thursday, Mr Babiš called on Czechs to exercise caution and not take unnecessary risks. The current state of emergency is in place until December 12.
