Former president Václav Klaus tests positive for COVID-19

Václav Klaus, who was president of the Czech Republic from 2003 to 2011, has tested positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus. He has received treatment at the Central Military Hospital in Prague, the spokesman of his think tank Petr Macinka told Czech Radio on Tuesday. Mr. Klaus is now recovering at home.

The former president is known as an ardent opponent of coronavirus lockdown measures and was fined CZK 10,000 holding a speech at a demonstration without wearing a face mask.
