First case of monkeypox detected in Czech Republic
The first case of monkeypox has been confirmed in the Czech Republic, Seznam Zprávy reported on Tuesday. The chairman of the infectious medicine group at the JE Purkyně Czech Medical Society, Pavel Dlouhý, told the news site that the patient in question was being treated at Prague’s Central Military Hospital.
Monkeypox cases have recently been discovered across Europe, the United States and other countries.
The rare viral infection does not tend to spread easily between people.
