Fiala to attend UN climate conference in Egypt next week

Prime Minister Petr Fiala will attend the start of the UN climate conference in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt next week, the Czech News Agency reported on Friday. His three-day trip will also include bilateral talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the summit and a meeting with members of the Czech contingent of the Multinational Force and Observers mission, an international peacekeeping force overseeing the terms of the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

The prime minister is scheduled to fly to Egypt on Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning, he will visit the Czech soldiers at a military base not far from Sharm el-Sheikh and then will participate in the opening ceremony of the UN summit, followed by his meeting with the Egyptian president. On Tuesday, he will participate in a roundtable on water management, open a panel discussion on supporting education in the field of climate change, and deliver a speech at the plenary session in the afternoon.
