PM Fiala: Czechia to join global commitment to reduce methane emissions by 2030
Czechia is ready to join the global commitment to reduce methane emissions by at least 30 percent by 2030 compared to 2020 at the UN climate conference in Egypt, Prime Minister Petr Fiala told journalists before leaving for Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday.
Mr Fiala also said he would like to use the opportunity for bilateral talks not only with politicians but also with representatives of important companies.
During his three-day visit to Egypt, the Czech Prime Minister is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the sidelines of the summit and meet with members of the Czech contingent of the Multinational Force and Observers mission.
The Czech Prime Minister will also participate in a roundtable on water management, open a panel discussion on supporting education in the field of climate change, and deliver a speech at the plenary session on Tuesday afternoon.
