Explosion at Poličské strojírny injures one, emergency services evacuating area

An explosion hit the premises of Poličské strojírny in the Svitavy district this morning, injuring at least one person. Emergency services have declared the third level of fire alert and evacuated people from the site, fire service spokeswoman Vendula Horáková told the Czech News Agency. The affected facility is part of the STV Invest holding, which leases part of the area. The STV Group plant in Polička specializes in the production of large-caliber ammunition, military equipment repair, and supply of spare parts.
