Explosion in munitions warehouse injures one in Polička arms plant

An explosion rocked the premises of Poličské strojírny in eastern Czechia on Tuesday morning. According to emergency services, the blast occurred in a munitions warehouse, seriously injuring one person who was airlifted to a hospital in Olomouc. Eleven fire units responded, and the site was evacuated. Authorities declared the third highest emergency level. A nearby road from Polička to Korouhev was closed for several hours. The plant, operated by STV Group, specializes in large-caliber ammunition and military equipment. The company is expected to issue a statement in the afternoon but declined to comment earlier.
