Deník N reports undisclosed talks between Fiala and Zeman aide

Prime minister designate Petr Fiala met President Miloš Zeman’s head of office, Vratislav Mynář, prior to speaking to the head of state himself on Monday afternoon, the news outlet Deník N reported.

A spokesperson for Mr. Fiala’s party, the Civic Democrats, said that the two had discussed organisational aspects of the swearing in of the new government.

After Mr. Fiala met Mr. Zeman it was announced that the appointment of the cabinet would go ahead on Friday.

Neither the government nor the Office of the President made public the fact that the prime minister designate had met Mr. Mynář. Denik N said Vít Rakušan, the head of the second biggest party in the new coalition, the Mayors, was unaware of the meeting.
