President Zeman to appoint PM-designate’s cabinet, including Lipavský
Prime Minister-designate Petr Fiala (Civic Democrats) has said that President Miloš Zeman will appoint the new government on Friday, including Jan Lipavský (Pirate Party), a candidate for the post of Foreign Minister whom the president had said he would reject.
Fiala said after his meeting with the president on Monday at his official Lány Castle residence that Zeman still insisted his objections to Lipavský were valid, but did not want to delay the appointment of a new government further with a legal dispute.
Had Zeman refused to appoint Lipavský, the prime minister-designate had said he would call on the Constitutional Court to resolve the issue.
