Czechia to open record 111 km of highways in 2024

Czechia will open a record 111 kilometers of new highways in 2024, according to Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) chief Radek Mátl. Next year, approximately 80 kilometers are expected to open, potentially marking the second-highest achievement. Major stretches include the D55, D3, and D4 motorways. "Construction will pause only briefly for Christmas, resuming in early January," said Mátl. In 2025, nearly 80 kilometers are projected, alongside the completion of the D1 motorway, marking another milestone for the country’s nearly 1,500 kilometer network.
