Czech lawmakers to discuss Ukraine, Russia and trade on upcoming U.S. visit

Members of the Czech parliamentary committee for European affairs plan to travel to the U.S. in June to meet with members of Congress and senior officials. Their agenda will focus on security issues, including support for Ukraine, sanctions on Russia, and transatlantic cooperation. Committee chairman Ondřej Benešík (Christian Democrats) said talks will also cover Middle East policy and trade matters, such as tariffs. The visit comes amid shifts in U.S. foreign policy and its role in NATO. A U.S. congressional staff delegation is expected to visit Prague in May ahead of the Czech lawmakers’ trip.
