Czech diplomatic mission in Kabul closed
The Czech Republic has temporarily closed its diplomatic mission in Kabul, the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on its website on Monday. Ambassador Jiří Baloun, who has “evacuated employee” status will work from Prague and the embassy's agenda will be taken over by the Czech embassy in Islamabad. The embassy staff, its Afghan employees and collaborators were evacuated to Prague in a dramatic rescue operation two weeks ago. The ministry will continue paying rent on its premises in Kabul and await to see how the situation in the country develops.
