Covid numbers rising, but Czechia still third least affected country in EU
Laboratories in the Czech Republic confirmed 550 new cases of Covid-19 on Thursday, 130 more than on the same day a week ago. It is the second highest daily increase this week and the third day in succession that the daily increase crossed the 500 mark. In the last week, there have been 28 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, which is the highest number since the end of May.
According to Health Ministry data, 158 people are currently hospitalized with Covid-19.
Although Covid numbers are slowly rising, the Czech Republic is presently the third least affected country in the EU by the pandemic with the lowest number of Covid-related deaths per capita.
