Third highest weekend increase in Covid cases recorded on Saturday
Laboratories in the Czech Republic registered 9,161 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, around 3,400 more than on the same day last week. It is the third highest increase in new Covid cases since the pandemic hit the country last March.
According to Health Ministry data, the Czech Republic presently has on average 693 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the space of seven days, which is 32 more than in the previous week.
The number of people hospitalized with Covid is now 3,740. Saturday saw 27 people die with Covid, bringing the total epidemic death toll up to 31,481.
