Zkoleduj se – Advent charity concerts with a difference

Zkoleduj se are Advent charity concerts held throughout the country. Three years ago the group which initiated them recorded a CD of the same name, featuring traditional Christmas carols with a difference.

The idea came from a group of young singers and actors who aimed to combine music, charity and a singular Christmas atmosphere across generations. They travel around the country singing traditional carols in new arrangements on squares, in cafes, schools and railway stations as young and old spontaneously join in. Anyone can take part just for the fun of it and also contribute to charity. The proceeds go to children's homes, homes for the elderly, sheltered workshops and free lunches for schoolchildren, among others. In 2019 they also recorded their very first CD called Zkoleduj se.  This year they gave an Advent concert from Prague’s New Town Hall available online for people of goodwill everywhere.
