Zeman calls on Klaus, 80, to return to politics

Hundreds of people attended an 80th birthday party for former Czech president Václav Klaus at the South Gardens at Prague Castle on Friday. Mr. Klaus, who also served as prime minister and finance minister turned 80 on Saturday.

Among the guests were current head of state Miloš Zeman, Czech Roman Catholic Church head Duka, former prime minister Petr Necaš and ex-TV Nova chief Vladimír Železný.

Mr. Zeman called on Mr. Klaus to return to politics, saying many of his own supporters would back him. He recently refused to rule out standing again for president.
