World number eight Muchová forced to miss WTA Finals

The Czech tennis player Karolína Muchová has had to withdraw from the season ending WTA Finals due to a wrist injury. The world number eight will also miss the final of the Billie Jean Cup international team competition in November.

Muchová, who is 27, has suffered from a sore wrist since the US Open in September, where she reached the semi-finals. She has not played since then but said only last week that she still hoped to take part in the WTA Finals.
