This weekend: music, food, drink and fireworks at Břevnov Festival 2024
From Friday 4th to the evening of Sunday 6th, the Břevnov Monastery is hosting a funfair of food, drink, crafts, music and fireworks within its historic grounds. On Friday afternoon, most of the stalls and fairground attractions will be up and running, but the main programme of events begins on Saturday.
Following a children’s masquerade carnival at 2 pm on Saturday, various acts will take to the stage, including a ‘Camelot Revival’ that will take spectactors back to the court of King Arthur. After it gets dark, a fireworks display will begin at 7 pm. The programme will restart the following day at 2 pm with more music, and all the while stalls will be offering hearty autumnal food and traditional drinks like mead, beer and burčák. Members of the Břevnov Brewery team will also be demonstrating the art of medieval brewing. Craftspeople will be selling their wares and offering children opportunities to make something themselves.
Although some of the acts may ask their audience for a donation, entrance to the festival is free and the Břevnov Monastery will be open throughout.
