US State Dept. approves sale of communications equipment to Czechia

The US State Department has approved the sale of military communications equipment and related accessories to the Czech Republic worth $181 million (roughly CZK 4 billion), the Pentagon announced on its website. The Czech Defence Ministry said last October that it planned to conclude a framework agreement with the US company L3Harris for the purchase of up to 20,000 RF-9820S radios and related accessories.

According to the ministry, the contract would allow the purchase of the radios for a total price of up to CZK 7.7 billion over the next seven years. The purchase would support the ongoing transformation of the Czech Armed Forces and enhance the capabilities the Czech Republic can provide to NATO.
