Unified entrance exams start at secondary schools

Unified entrance exams begin today for four-year secondary school programmes in the Czech Republic, with a second date scheduled for Monday. Around 98,130 students have applied for these programmes this year, about 4,000 more than last year. Candidates for multi-year grammar schools will sit their exams next Tuesday and Wednesday. In total, approximately 124,650 students will take the tests this year, according to the Ministry of Education. The exams include mathematics and Czech language tests, with the better result in each subject counting towards the final score. Replacement dates are set for the end of April, with results due on 15 May.
