Unemployment in Czechia rises to 4.4 percent in July as hiring slows
Czech unemployment rose to 4.4 percent in July from 4.2 percent in June, with nearly 330,000 people out of work, according to the Labour Office. The increase is attributed to the seasonal drop in hiring and the arrival of recent graduates on the job market. At the same time, the number of job vacancies fell by about 3,000 to slightly less than 96,000. The highest regional unemployment was in the Ústí (6.7%) and Moravian-Silesian (6.2%) regions, while Prague recorded the lowest at 3.4 percent. Most job openings remain in Prague and Central Bohemia.
