Ukrainian soldiers to train in Libavá military zone

Ukrainian soldiers will be trained in the Libavá military zone in Central Moravia, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Defence Committee on Tuesday.

The training, which will concern mechanised units and special professions, is to be carried out in five stages, planned until the end of 2023. Each exercise cycle will last four weeks and will be able to accommodate up to 800 soldiers.

The proposal must now be approved by both houses of parliament. The first cycle is expected to take place later this year. The total cost of the training is estimated at CZK 975 million.
