Ukrainian defence minister Umerov to visit Prague on Saturday
Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov is set to visit Czechia on Saturday and meet with his Czech counterpart, Jana Černochová. Mr. Umerov previously met with Czech defence officials and arms manufacturers in Ukraine, announcing joint projects to strengthen Ukraine’s military. These include rifle production under a Danish financing model and continued coordination on ammunition and military supplies.
Czechia is a key supporter of Ukraine, providing CZK 7.3 billion in military aid since the war began. The Czech army has trained over 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers and helps facilitate ammunition deliveries, securing 1.5 million artillery rounds for Ukraine in 2024. The Czech Defence Minister last visited Ukraine in early March.
