Two of five appeals in Ještěd cable car accident case accepted
The public prosecutor has accepted two of the five appeals against the initiation of criminal proceedings in the case of the Ještěd cable car accident, the Czech News Agency reported on Friday. Three people still remain accused of general endangerment due to negligence and face three to eight years in prison if found guilty. The investigation is still ongoing.
The accident happened on October 31, 2021, when the cable car on Ještěd mountain near Liberec fell from a height of 30 metres, killing the operator, who was alone in the cabin, on impact.
