Twenty-six groups to compete for seats in the Czech lower house

A total of 26 political parties, movements, and coalitions have registered for the October elections to the Czech Chamber of Deputies, four more than in 2021. The broadest choice will be in Prague, with 25 groups on the ballot, while voters in the Vysočina region will pick from 18. All current parliamentary parties are running, with the Spolu alliance (Civic Democratic Party, Christian Democrats, TOP 09) the only formal coalition. Newcomers include the liberal-right Voluntia, the Kruh movement, and SMS – Stát Má Sloužit (State Should Serve). The last time more than 26 groups competed was in 2017, when 31 ran and nine entered parliament.
