Total recorded Covid cases in CR passes 3.5 million

There have now been over 3.5 million confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Czech Republic (population 10.7 million) since the start of the pandemic. Experts have said that the real number could in fact be two or three times higher.

On Saturday 8,220 new cases were recorded. This was the lowest figure seen on a weekend day for six weeks. There were 1,318 registered reinfections.

The seven-day case incidence was 1,023 per 100,000, the lowest number in over a month.
