Tuesday second anniversary of first Covid cases in CR
Tuesday marks the second anniversary of the confirmation of the first cases of Covid-19 in the Czech Republic. Since that time there have been over 3.5 million confirmed cases in the country, which has a population of 10.7 million. Experts say the actual number of infections may be two or three times higher.
To date there have been over 38,500 registered Covid deaths, one of the highest per capita death rates in the world.
On Monday there were 10,159 recorded new cases, with numbers continuing to decline after an all-time peak around a month ago.
