Three new cases of monkeypox detected in Czechia
The National Institute of Public Health (SZÚ) has confirmed three further cases of monkeypox in the Czech Republic, bringing the total number up to five. According to the hygienists, all of the individuals live in Prague. The SZÚ stated that all five cases are of a milder variant of the virus belonging to the West African group, where the mortality rate lies at one percent.
Two of the positive samples were sent from the Military University Hospital in Prague and one from the Na Bulovce hospital in the same city, SZÚ spokeswoman Štěpánka Čechová said on Thursday. She said that the SZÚ has received no further samples to examine at the moment.
