Thousands of people join anti-government protest in Prague
Thousands of people gathered on Prague’s Wenceslas Square to protest against the policies of the Fiala government on Wednesday. The protest in Prague held under the motto “ Czechia First” is organized by a group who describe themselves as “politically unaffiliated citizens”. They are demanding, among other things, that Czechia secure direct gas supply contracts with Russia at low prices, leave the EU and NATO and become a neutral country. The group was behind a protest in Prague in early September that was attended by about 70 000 people. Protests are also taking place in several other cities, including Brno, Plzen, Liberec and Česke Budějovice.
