Thousands gather on Wenceslas Square to support rights of LGBT+ people

Thousands of people gathered on Wenceslas Square in Prague on Wednesday evening to support equal rights for LGBT+ people.

Organisers and speakers at the event, called Together Against Hate, called for an end to the spread of prejudice against LGBT+ people and for a law to be passed to allow same-sex couples to marry.

Last week, Prague Pride and other LGBT+ advocacy groups published an open call to the Czech government and parliament to take concrete steps to protect LGBT+ people. To date it was signed by 18,000 people to date.
