Tennis player Muchová advances to second round in Tokyo tournament

Tennis player Karolína Muchová advanced to the second round of the Tokyo tournament after her Czech compatriot Markéta Vondroušová retired. The eighth-seeded Muchová won the first set 6-2 and was leading 1-0 in the second when the former Wimbledon champion withdrew due to issues with her right shoulder.
