Tennis: Czech teen sensation Linda Fruhvirtová through to third round in Miami

Czech tennis teenage sensation Linda Fruhvirtová has advanced to the third round of the Miami Open in her debut WTA 1000 event. The 16-year-old wildcard, who is ranked WorldNo. 279, defeated World No. 24 Elise Mertens of Belgium 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 on Friday. She will face Belorussian Victoria Azarenka in the next round.

Another Czech player, Petra Kvitová, is also through to the third round after defeating Clara Burel of France 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.
