Survey: Most Czech towns feel effects of climate change

Nearly three-quarters of Czech towns and municipalities say they are already experiencing the effects of climate change, according to a survey by Wavin Czechia. However, only 11 percent have a comprehensive strategy for water management. The survey of 300 municipalities found that the main obstacles to investment are insufficient funding, complicated property ownership and complex subsidy programmes. Nevertheless, many municipalities are taking measures, with 82 percent investing in greenery and 71 percent in rainwater drainage. Almost half plan to invest between CZK 1 million and CZK 10 million in water-management projects over the next three years.
