Sunny weather draws thousands of skiers to Czech mountains
Thousands of skiers flocked to the mountains in East Bohemia over the weekend, with Špindlerův Mlýn seeing heavy traffic and long car queues. Inversion weather brought sunny skies and temperatures above freezing in the mountains, attracting visitors. Špindlerův Mlýn ski resort boosted skibus services to manage the influx. Five lifts and 18 km of slopes are in operation, with conditions described as “fantastic.” Nearly 20,000 skiers visited since Friday. Dolní Morava welcomed up to 5,000 visitors, with full accommodations through January 6. Nearby Říčky also saw strong attendance, with 3,000 to 4,000 visitors daily.
