State ready to start paying out energy support

People who have been hard-hit by the increase in energy prices can now apply to labour offices for support, Labour Minister Marian Jurečka said at a press briefing in Prague on Friday.

He said the authorities had prepared an online calculator where people can check whether they are entitled to the respective housing alliance and find out how high the support would be. It is also possible to use a one-off “immediate assistance” contribution.

Labour offices will inform their clients about the possibilities of financial assistance. The Czech Social Security Administration will also start sending letters to seniors in February.
