State property office tries again to sell National House in Vinohrady

The Office for Government Representation in Property Affairs (ÚZSVM) launches its fifth attempt on Tuesday to sell Prague’s National House in Vinohrady through a 24-hour electronic auction. The starting price was set at CZK 615 million, reduced by CZK 69 million compared to the previous round. Built in 1893–94 by architect Antonín Turek, the Neo-Renaissance landmark includes three large halls and four salons, and is leased until mid-2032 for social events. Previous high-value auctions by ÚZSVM often failed, though the house U Hybernů sold this March for CZK 447 million.
