Šmicer to stand for head of FA, pledging to clean up Czech football

The former Liverpool player and Czech international Vladimír Šmicer has announced that he will stand for the post of president of the Czech Football Association. Šmicer is the candidate of the group F-evoluce, which formed after the arrest of ex-Czech FA deputy chief Roman Berbr, and says his main motivation is to clean up Czech football.

Among the other candidates are ex-international Karel Poborský and experienced FA functionary Petr Fousek.
