Slight drop in Covid cases on Friday, but hospitalizations continue to rise
The Czech Republic registered 20,315 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, which is a slight drop compared to the same day a week ago and there has also been a slight drop in the incidence number to 1,207 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the space of a week.
However the number of people hospitalized with Covid continues to rise. Over 6,000 people are now hospitalized with Covid, of whom 924 require intensive care. Epidemiologists expect the fifth wave of the pandemic in the Czech Republic to culminate sometime in December.
