SIPRI: Czech arms producer Czechoslovak Group ranks among world’s top 100 defense companies

The Czech company Czechoslovak Group (CSG) has entered the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute's (SIPRI) list of the world's top 100 arms producers, ranking 89th. In 2023, the combined sales of these leading defense firms amounted to $632 billion, a 4.2 % increase from the previous year, primarily due to challenges faced by major U.S. companies. Despite this overall decline, demand for military equipment has surged, influenced by ongoing conflicts such as the war in Ukraine. This increased demand has led to significant backlogs in orders, suggesting that revenues for top arms producers including the Czechoslovak Group may rise in the coming years.
