Seznamzpravy.cz: European Commission probes Babiš (ANO) conflict-of-interest safeguards
The European Commission has sent a letter to the Czech authorities requesting clarification on how the country is preventing a conflict of interest involving Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), Seznamzpravy.cz reported. Brussels is also seeking assurances that Agrofert will not receive EU funding until the situation is fully resolved. According to the report, Babiš says he eliminated the conflict of interest after returning to office by placing all shares of Agrofert into the private RSVP Trust. In its letter, the Commission asks for detailed information on national measures addressing the potential conflict and wants confirmation that no additional EU subsidies have been granted to Agrofert since Babiš became prime minister again.
