Senator wants right to pay by cash in constitution

A Czech senator is proposing that the right to pay by cash be enshrined in the country’s constitution. Jitka Chalánková, who is from the Civic Democrats and TOP 09 group in the Senate, says that some people are afraid that non-cash payments will become compulsory or that the authorities will use pressure to get rid of cash transactions.

The upper house should begin discussing the draft bill the week after next, the Czech News Agency reported.
