Senate Speaker Vystrčil arrives in Kyiv for Crimean Platform summit
Speaker of the Czech Senate Miloš Vystrčil arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday to attend the fourth summit of the Crimean Platform, which seeks to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine and to end the Russian occupation of the Crimean peninsula. He will also pay tribute to the victims of forced deportations by the totalitarian Soviet regime.
Mr. Vystrčil last visited Kiev in November 2023, when he paid tribute to the victims on the 90th anniversary of the 1932-1933 famine in Ukraine. He also supported Ukraine's territorial integrity by visiting the Crimean administrative border in Kherson region.
The Crimean Platform, which brings together some 70 countries and international organisations, was established in the summer of 2021 on the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. A second summit at parliamentary level was held in Prague in October 2023.
