Senate head Vystrčil calls for stronger action against abuse of women in politics
Czech Senate Speaker Miloš Vystrčil (Civic Democratic Party) urged state authorities to act more effectively against insults and verbal attacks targeting women in politics, which he described as “deeply reprehensible.” Research by Forum 50% shows that female MPs across all parties face psychological and sexualized violence, with abuse often more personal than against male colleagues. According to an analysis by Troll Wall AI, the most toxic online comments were aimed at Markéta Pekarová Adamová (TOP09), Alena Schillerová (ANO Party), Jana Maláčová (Social Democrats), and Defence Minister Jana Černochová (Civic Democratic Party). Pekarová Adamová said coordinated campaigns attempt to provoke wider hostility against women in leadership, stressing how falsehoods spread faster than the truth.
