Secondary school graduation exams begin with tests in maths and foreign languages

State graduation exams have begun in Czech secondary schools, with students taking didactic tests in mathematics, English, and French on Friday. A total of 80,828 students are taking the state exams for the first time this year—almost 7 percent more than in 2023. Most chose English as their second mandatory subject, while 19 percent opted for mathematics. On Monday, all students will sit for the Czech language exam. Additional optional tests in German, Spanish, Russian, and advanced mathematics follow on Tuesday. Results of the state-organized didactic tests will be released to schools by May 15.
