Saturday sees coronavirus cases hit new weekend record

Saturday saw a total of 27,956 people test positive for Covid-19 in Czechia, data from the Ministry of Health shows. This the highest number yet recorded on a weekend day. Hospitalizations fell however, to 2952 with just 196 patients listed as being in serious condition.

Nevertheless, Saturday’ high numbers led to a rise in the incidence number, which now lies at an average of 2,283 cases per 100,000 people over the past seven days.
